1. Explain how you showed the meaning of each word. For "surround," the "o" is encircling the rest of the letters, surrounding them. For "space," I used the word "space" to outline and fill in the space between the letters of the word "space." The spaces I left open became the letters of "space." For "Embrace," the two e's embrace the rest of the letters in the word; they reach around the other letters simulating an embrace. 2. What was the most challenging part of creating your word illustrations? The hardest part of creating "surround" was aligning the letters with each other in the middle of the "o." It was hard to see if the letters were aligned. For "space," the hardest part was filling in all the spaces with the smaller words. It was more time consuming than I would have liked it to be. For "embrace," the hardest part was aligning the letters between the two e's. Like "surround," it was hard to see if they were properly aligned. 3. Did you participate in a critique? Was this helpful for you? Why? I did participate in a critique. It helped me decide which three word illustrations I wanted to continue working on and how to fix some of the smaller errors in each illustration.
